The site is mostly outdoors, so bring sun cover in summer; the tunnels stay cool. Is there a guide, or is it self-guided?
The €18 ticket is self-guided only — no included guide, but smartphone audio-guide available for an extra fee at the venue. If you want a live guide, choose from three private options (€169, €195, or €205), or the €79 small-group Modernisme walk.
How long does it take?

Can I visit for free?
Yes, on the first Sunday of every month — but slots are limited and sell out. Register or queue early. At €18, paying is often the simpler choice. Also free for under-12s and certain other categories at the box office.
Is this still a working hospital?
No. The hospital closed in June 2009 when the new Hospital de Sant Pau opened next door. The historic 1902–1930 complex reopened to visitors as the Sant Pau Recinte Modernista. If you need medical help, the working hospital is a separate building.
